OLBRICH successful at Heimtextil 2020

The 50th edition of Heimtextil provided strong impulses for the start of the new furnishing season. 63,000 visitors came to the 2,952 exhibitors at the world's leading trade fair for home and contract textiles to find out about the major themes of the international sector. As expected, the uniquely early date in particular caused a dent in visitor numbers.

"However, the early date did not detract from our business", says Klaus Ruland, Sales Manager for the wallcovering industry at OLBRICH: "Much to our delight, we received orders for two complete coating and printing lines for wallcoverings at this year's Heimtextil. Overall, our booth was always well frequented. Our focus at the fair this year was on digital printing technology. In cooperation with the Japanese print head manufacturer Ricoh, we were able to present our new printing technology. In particular, the 4x4m display of our digital printing machine at our booth created a high potential for discussions".

Jens Krebber, Head of International Business Development and Marketing, is also convinced that this new technology will revolutionize the market in the near future. "Many hours of work and high material input are behind us. But it has been worth it. Visitors to the trade show are amazed at the possibilities offered by digital printing," says Jens Krebber. "The unique inkjet printing technology is particularly suitable for decorative products such as wallcoverings, decorative films, floor coverings and similar PVC-based products. No special ink receiving layers, pre-coatings or other pre-treatments of the printing substrate are necessary. The ink is absorbed by the wet plastisol and embedded in it. This technology is ideally suited for the industrial production of wallcoverings. An integration into an existing plant is possible as well as an off-line solution".

We would like to thank all visitors for their interest and look forward to seeing you again in 2021!
